Are You Game? [Volume 5]

Volume 5: Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker

Screw Ocarina of Time, this is the freaking WInd Waker. Released in 2002 in Japan and 2003 for other territories. It was the first Zelda Game on the Gamecube. It's a great game and in my opinion, better than Ocarina of Time. But it suffers from the flaws of previous Zelda games.
This game takes place way after the other games. Leading after the "Adult" ending timeline, when Ganon rose to power. After the Hero of Time left unexpectedly, Ganon returned and and spread evil across Hyrule. The people prayed for the Hero to return but nothing happened. So the Goddesses counteracted by flooding Hyrule. And what was left of old Hyrule. NOBODY KNOWS!!!!!!. And what happened to Ganon. NOBODY KNOWS!!!!!. Well he actually does make it out and it's up to you to stop him.

Is it me, or did Ganon get fatter.
This game is like the other 3D Zelda games. But this time you have a boat and can travel across the sea. There are many islands where you can get treasure or fairies. And others have settlements where people are. On these dungeons are where some of dungeons are. That seems to be the main element in the game. Traveling in the sea, discovering far off lands for you to plunder. And there's a boat on the cover of the game so it's pretty obvious. Combat is also just like the other Zelda games. But that's not a bad thing. But somethings I hate are walking on narrow pathways and jumping. The analog is sensitive in this game, and i'm the kind of person who just wants to jump in. And I hate aiming the arrow. The slightest nudge will move it out of proportion. Well I most of the items which you have to use in first person.
And about the cel-shadedness of the game. I don' t see it as a big deal. In fact I like it. Sure it takes away from the seriousness of it all. But I think it looks good and is a nice change of mood. And i also have a friend who said all the Toon Link stuff wasn't important to the story. Well nerts to you. If it has LInk, Ganon, and Zelda in Hyrule, I think it's important to the story!.
Colored Splooge?
So it's time to give this game a rating. I award it a 9 out of 10. Fun exploring and solving puzzles, but still suffers from the same controls as the other games. Well that's it for me, and i'll see you in the next Are you Game.
