Are You Game? [Volume 3]

                                                        Volume 3: Super Paper Mario

IT"S A ME, MAR-ahem. Sorry, I got carried away there. It's Shinx, and this is Super Paper Mario. Released back in 2007, Super Paper Mario is the newest game in the Paper Mario series. This is the only game from the series I have. So I can't really compare them, but I will give a strait forward review of it.
The graphics are the same from the other games, but mostly 2D. But it also has a twist. With the help of Tippi, a Pixl, you can flip into 3D. Pixls are like pixelated fairies that help you in the game. In 3D the effects are kind of cheesy. If you played you'd know what I mean. Everything's blocky and there isn't that much depth sometimes. But you need to solve puzzles and get through tight areas of the game. There are more Pixls too. Some can blow though walls and make you paper thin which can make it easier sometimes.
Gameplay is different from traditional RPG's. It's not turn based and is a side-scroller. You level up by gathering points. How do you gather points?. Well you kill enemies that's how. You also get power-ups. Some can can take out multiple enemies on the screen, and others can make you go super slow or super fast. The main goal is trying to get 8 pure hearts and restore them to their rightful places. There are 4 playable characters in the game. They are Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Bowser. Each character has their own abilities. Like Mario can flip between dimensions. Luigi can do a super jump. Peach can use her umbrella to float long distances. And Bowser can breathe fire. It can be a pain in the but to switch characters, and Pixls for that matter. Especially if you don't know what you're doing.
The story's is about you trying to destroy the evil Count Bleck, who wields an ancient tome called the Dark Prognosticus. He captures Peach, Bowser, and Luigi, but later you save them and they join your party.
So now it's rating time.YAY!. I rate this game a solid 8 out of 10. It's charming, witty, and funny wth smooth gameplay. But I feel it brings nothing new to the table and some lame 3D effects and some parts seem drone on. But it's a good game none the less. So this is me signing out, and i'll see you next time.
