                                                    Volume 6: Super Mario Sunshine

Hello everybody, it's me Shinx, and this time it's Super Mario Sunshine. Released in 2002, it is the successor to Super Mario 64. This game's fun, but to me is very frustrating. It's like whenever I die I see a Japanese businessman laughing at me. And I feel like wanting to go to a prison, sneaking in, unleashing the prisoners and letting them run free.

So you play as Mario (no durr) and you go with peach to Delfino Island for vacation. But little as we know there's evil a foot. An evil version of Mario is trying to get giant blobs of paint all over Delfino with his giant paintbrush. Since the Delfino officials don't know the difference, they lock up the real Mario in prison. He is forbidden to leave the island without cleaning up all the paint, so he uses a water-jetpack-pump thing called FLUDD. So it's up yo you to clear your name, find the doppelganger, and eventually save the of coarse kidnapped Peach.

This game is a standard 3D platformer, but you get FLUDD.  You could use FLUDD as a jet pack, rocket, or a spray. And you use it to clear out paint spread all out through Delfino. You collect shine sprites at the end of each level. You have to because it will restore the shine all throughout Delfino. It's not like the officials, no they just stand there while you have to clean the island all by yourself. The toads don't do jack either.

There's also voice acting in the game. It sucks. Nothing sounds right, everything sounds like a Betty Crokcer commercial. And the graphics aren't so hot either. But the graphics aren't the game right. It's the gameplay.

This game isn't all bad. It's really good in its ways. Each world is different and vibrant. No one world is the same is the other. FLUDD is the best part though. Without it you couldn't finish a level. Jumping is the most important part since it's a platformer, and it works really well.

So it's rating time. This game gets a solid 8 out of 10. There some frustrating parts all throught out the game, but if you can ignore them this game is a decent buy. SPECIAL EDITION ARE YOU GAME WITH MUDKIP OMG!!!

Hello guys, gals, and wonderful pals! It's me, Mudkip and as AYG is one of my favorite columns, I thought I would come in and contribute to it this week, especially because of the release of
Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs. So thats what Im doing here, along with Shinx for a double issue!
Lets get started!

Getting Started

Thank Game Freak for this game's ability to skip most of the tutorials, as I have gone through 2 of these games already, so I am pretty sure I know how to draw a circle on the screen with a plastic pen, stylus, whatever. The cutscenes are neat, but there are SO MANY OF THEM. You really get started without delay, though. As soon as you press New Game, you get the infamous questions: Are you a boy? Or are you a girl? Being a boy, I picked boy. They introduce you to the villains in the first 10 seconds of the game as well. Pokemon Pinchers, Oh God.

Villains

The pokemon pinchers are the... smartest group of people I have ever met... as if. I am a fan of Blue Eyes and Red Eyes, the leaders of the Pokemon Pinchers. They, guess what?, have EMOTIONS. Take that, Cyrus! But, umm... teh minons are stupid as bull doohicky. Sigh...

Ukelele Pichu!
Three Words. Best Partner Ever.

The Islands of Oblivia

The Islands are pretty awesome. Each island has do, re, mi, fa, so, la or ti at the beginning. There is too much walking around to past places hough. Going back and forth can get pretty tedious, even when you have the ability to fly on a Staraptor (which you get way too late in the game in my opinion). The landscape and scenery are beautiful.

Storyline

The storyline is actually passable. I dont mind the whole gimmick of the guardian signs. I like drawing the signs and I like the puzzles associated with the storyline, but the beginning is way too slow paced, and it feels boring at times.

Conclusion

As I have been a fan of the Ranger series since the beginning, circling the heck out of my stylus, I think that they could have done better with this game. Its not a must have, but I believe any Pokemon Ranger Fan should definitely get this game.

My Rating:

Presentation: 9.0 // Guardian Signs, Epicness, and Great Storyline.

Graphics: 7.5 // Pixels and Pixels but beautiful scenery.

Music: 8.5 // Its a Ukelele-playing Pichu. It doesn't get better.

Gameplay: 8.5 // Sometimes riding Raikou is glitchy, but other than that...

Lasting Appeal: 8.0 // Multiplayer, Quests, and Ranger Net.

Final Score: 8.3 - Good
